Harvey Weinstein’s Former Assistant Apparently Tried To Stop Him In 1998

Reportedly, Harvey Weinstein’s former assistant Zelda Perkins and a colleague had quit in 1998 after trying to stop him from abusing women, as well as attempting to try and get him to sign a legal agreement requiring him to seek therapy. Zelda claims that Harvey tried to rape her.

As part of a settlement, she signed a non-disclosure agreement, but also committed Harvey to attend therapy for three years. The NDA also required the company to spill the beans to its then-owner, the Walt Disney Co., or to fire Weinstein if he made any more payouts over alleged wrongdoing.

“I have no idea if any of the obligations were upheld,” she told the Associated Press, but a year later she ran into him at the Cannes Film Festival and “he told me that everything I had done was pointless.”

Now, Zelda is due to testify Wednesday before the British Parliament’s Women and Equalities Committee, which is investigating sexual harassment and the use of non-disclosure agreements, or NDAs.

Basically, Zelda is a badass. Read more at Page Six.
