Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Invite The Public To Their Wedding

The people of the world will be able to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the know on May 19, after it was announced that they’re inviting over 2,500 people to Windsor Castle.

“They want their wedding day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too,” their office at Kensington Palace said in a press release Friday. “This wedding, like all weddings, will be a moment of fun and joy that will reflect the characters and values of the bride and groom.”

As their reps say, Meghan and Harry invited a grand total of 2,640 members of the public, with groups of people drawn from various groups. Some 1,200 U.K. guests will be nominated to attend by nine offices of the Lord Lieutenants, the Queen’s representatives, who are spread around the country. Matching the couple’s sensibilities, the guests will include young people who have shown strong leadership, and those who have served their communities.

An additional 200 guests will be invited from charities, like WellChild for ill children and the Invictus Games, for sick and injured veterans. Another 100 children from two local schools will also be there.

Also, 610 people who live on the castle grounds (including members of the St. George’s Chapel community) and 530 members of the Royal Household and the Crown Estate.

We hope they have enough cake!
