Chris Rock Discusses Porn addiction In New Netflix Special

It’s been nearly a decade since Chris Rock did a stand-up comedy special, and his latest Tamborine is perhaps one of his most candid yet.

The special takes its name from Rock’s comparison of being in a relationship to being in a band: “Sometimes you sing lead, and sometimes you’re on tambourine. And if you’re on tambourine, play it right. Play it with a f—ing smile, because no one wants to see a mad tambourine player.”

He also shares that he wasn’t a good husband.

“I was addicted to porn,” he says, joking that he was “15 minutes late everywhere.” He continues, “When you watch too much porn, you know what happens? You become, like, sexually autistic. You develop sexual autism. You have a hard time with eye contact and verbal cues … You get desensitized. When you start watching porn, any porn will do. Then, later on, you’re all f—ed up and you need a perfect porn cocktail to get you off. I was so f—ed up, like, I needed an Asian girl with a black girl’s ass that speaks Spanish just to get my d— to move an inch. I’m a lot better now.”

He then opened up about his divorce from Malaak Compton-Rock after 18 years of marriage. “It’s my fault, because I’m a f—ing asshole,” he says. “I didn’t listen. I wasn’t kind. I had an attitude, I thought, ‘I pay for everything, I can do what I want.’ That s— don’t f—ing work. I just thought I was the s—. I didn’t play the tambourine.”

He continues, “Some of these lessons you’ve just got to learn. Like, I brought this s— on myself. Nobody told me to go ho up. I brought this s— on myself, and you’ve got to learn some lessons, some man lessons.”
