Portia de Rossi is one fabulous wife! For Ellen DeGeneres’s birthday, the actress announced that her donation to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund created a permanent home in Rwanda for the organization, which has been protecting endangered mountain gorillas for 50 years.

Ellen said in a statement that she is “beyond excited” about the opportunity to work with the group. She said Portia “knew the exact right gift to give me.”
