Condé Nast Fires Famous Gay Photographers After Harassment Allegations

After allegations made by male models surfaced in a New York Times article, Conde Nast decided to end their relationships with fashion photographers Mario Testino and Bruce Weber.

Model Ryan Locke revealed in the piece that Mario is a “sexual predator” and said that Mario sent everyone out of the room during a shoot and locked the door. “Then he crawls on the bed,” he alleged. “He climbs on top of me and says, ‘I’m the girl, you’re the boy.’ I went at him, like, you better get away. I threw the towel on him, put my clothes on and walked out.”

“I’m completely shocked and saddened by the outrageous claims, being made against me, which I absolutely deny,” Bruce stated.

When the allegations came out, Anna Wintour put down a new code of conduct: Models must be over 18; alcohol and drugs are forbidden on sets; photographers can’t use Condé Nast sets for their own freelance work; and models must approve any shoot “involving nudity, sheer clothing, lingerie, swimwear, simulated drug or alcohol use, or sexually suggestive poses”
