These Christian College Kids Are Standing Up Against Antigay Bullying On Campus
A group of college students at Hope College, a private Christian university in Holland, Michigan, are taking to social media to shine light on homophobia, racism, and bigotry on their campus.
The social media campaign, #95_Stories, allows minority students to submit anonymous one-sentence stories and confessions about their experiences dealing with bigotry on campus.
“We want to change the culture and hearts,” Joshua Chun Wah Kam, spokesperson for the group, tells M Live. “I hope as people read these stories they are asking themselves some questions.”
“Am I someone that’s been hurting others? If not reflected in these stories, am I complicit? What can I do to help? How can I be an ally?”
The campaign kicked off on December 1 and will run through the end of the school year.
