Rumors have circulated for years about Val Kilmer’s health, and he is finally speaking out about it.

In 2016, People reported that Michael Douglas commented on his The Ghost and the Darkness co-star’s health. He said:

“The picture didn’t turn out as well as I hoped but I had a wonderful time. Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had, and things don’t look too good for him,” Douglas said to host Jonathan Ross. “My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately.”

At the time, Val denied the claim, stating that Michael was “misinformed.”

Now, however, Val is fessing up.

In a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” session, Val admitted something was up, but things are all good now. He said:

“He was probably trying to help me cause press probably asked where I was these days, and I did have a healing of cancer, but my tongue is still swollen altho [sic] healing all the time. Because I don’t sound my normal self yet people think I may still be under the weather.”

This was the first real admission of the cancer, though reports had circulated that Val had been hospitalized with bleeding, and that he was seen with what looked like a tracheostomy tube on his neck. Val took to hiding his neck with scarves after that, and denied all rumors.

We hope you are now in good health, Val!
