After John Oliver and Stephen Colbert have been confronting sexual predators during interviews, Alec Baldwin didn’t think it was very fair.

“Talk shows were once promotional pit stops for some blithe chit chat about movies, etc,” he wrote on Twitter. “Now the likes of [Oliver] and [Colbert] have flipped that and they are beginning to resemble grand juries.”

He quickly clarified that he did not express a “preference” in his initial comments before calling someone who criticized his “obtuse” language an “angry” and “harsh” person.

This week, John Oliver confronted Dustin Hoffman during a press interview on the 20th anniversary of Wag The Dog, which led to an uncomfortable meeting. Stephen Colbert, on his show, has confronted multiple people too — including Ben Affleck.
