CBS Is Trying To Get Oprah Winfrey To Fill Charlie Rose’s Seat

Following the suspension of CBS This Morning cohost Charlie Rose, the network is apparently “begging” Oprah Winfrey to take his spot opposite her best friend Gayle King.

“They are begging Oprah to fill in,” a TV insider said to Page Six. “Not full time . . . But they are hoping she’ll do one day, two days, one hour, fill in ’til Christmas. Anything.”

Oprah is already in the network family as she joined CBS’s 60 Minutes this fall: “Unless you get a superstar [on the show], it’s always going to be, ‘Charlie’s missing,’” the insider added.

I guess we’ll see what happens. Maybe the show needs a little Oprah effect.
