Charles Manson Is Dead At 83

The man who terrorized the Los Angeles area in the late-1960s and early-1970s, and ultimately became a notorious figure, has died at 83.

Charles Manson died this weekend of natural causes. He’s most known for orchestrating a wave of murders in August 1969 that took the lives of seven people, and landed him as the leader of the Manson Family — a cult that has since become synonymous with the era.

“He was the dictatorial ruler of the (Manson) family, the king, the Maharaja. And the members of the family were slavishly obedient to him,” former prosecutor Victor Bugliosi said in 2015.

He’s most known for orchestrating the murder of Sharon Tate, the actress and wife of Roman Polanski who was pregnant at the time she was murdered.
