Katy Perry Given $5 Million In Court Over Los Angeles Convent Purchase

Once upon a time, Katy Perry wanted to purchase 8 acres in Los Angeles’s Los Feliz neighborhood for $14.5 million. The property was once a convent, and the archdiocese had agreed to sell the property to the singer — which would have relocated an adjoining house of prayer used by priests. The bid was also approved by LA’s archbiship.

But, a business woman Dana Hollister stepped in and tried to interfere with the sale, and contractual relations.

According to Page Six, Dana “attempted to purchase the property from two nuns who had lived there. A judge voided that sale earlier this year, saying the archdiocese had the right to sell the property, not the nuns.”
