It’s not exactly the best year for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai, China. And Katy Perry is feeling the brunt.

The singer was set to perform, but has now been banned from the country permanently along with the other top models, including Gigi Hadid.

All of them tried to get into the country in advance. Katy herself had tried applying for a visa to enter, but was denied by authorities, Page Six reports.

Apparently she was told it’d be okay for her to enter early, but the government changed their minds after going through her social media and finding a Katy wearing a bright dress with sunflowers on it while in Taiwan in 2015. The sunflower was adopted last year by anti-China protestors.

“She was initially granted a visa to perform at the VS show in Shanghai, then Chinese officials changed their minds and yanked her visa,” a source explained. “For every artist who wants to perform in China, officials comb through their social-media and press reports to see if they have done anything deemed to be offensive to the country. Maroon 5 was banned a few years ago because one band member wished the Dalai Lama happy birthday on Twitter.”

Harry Styles will now replace her.
