Bijou Phillips Apologizes to ‘Mean Girls’ Star For Body Shaming & Being Homophobic

Bijou Phillips issued an apology to Mean Girls star Daniel Franzese after he shared on Facebook over the weekend that she “body shamed” and “ridiculed” him about his sexuality while on the set of 2001’s Bully.

Now, Bijou apologized via TMZ: “I want to write to address what Daniel has said. I don’t remember that time well, those years are a blur. I was a teenager and reckless in my behavior. I know Daniel to be a trustworthy and honest person, and to find out through social media that I was not the friend I thought I was to him made me so sad,” she said.

Daniel said that Bijou repeated asked, “Are you gay?!” during the film’s production.

When he said he was bi, “She cackled and said, ‘HA! He’s bi!’ And then when I showed up to work the next day in front of the crew she was screaming ‘Oh look! The Bi guy is here!”

He also alleges in the Facebook post that she “pointed at my body and at the top of her lungs” to yell “Ewwww gross!!!” when he had to be shirtless for a scene.
