Country singer Carrie Underwood took the stage at the Country Music Awards in honor of the Las Vegas shooting victims and sang “Softly and Tenderly.”

Carrie said in her opening remarks, “This has been a year marked by tragedy impacting countless lives including so many in our country music family. So, tonight we’re gonna do what families do: come together, pray together and cry together, too.”
