Meryl Streep Speaks Out About Inaccurate Dustin Hoffman Comments

Comments made by Meryl Streep nearly 38 years ago have resurfaced by Slate.

The comments were made in a 1979 Time interview where Meryl recalled an incident when Dustin Hoffman allegedly touched her breast. “He came up to me and said, ‘I’m Dustin — burp — Hoffman,’ and he put his hand on my breast. ‘What an obnoxious pig,’ I thought,” she says of their first meeting.

Meryl’s reps recently released a statement to Entertainment Tonight saying the Time piece was not an “accurate rendering of that meeting” and that “there was an offense and it is something for which Dustin apologized, and Meryl accepted that.”

Dustin was recently accused of harassing writer Anna Graham Hunter when she was 17 years old on the set of the 1985 TV movie Death of a Salesman.
