Apparently, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Distant Cousins

Nothing sucks more than realizing the man of your dreams is actually your cousin. According to an investigation by The Mail, that’s exactly what Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might realize.

The report shows the couple are actually distant cousins, related through a late 15th century ancestor of the Queen Mother.

Meghan’s ancestry dates all the way back to High Sheriff of County Durham Ralph Bowes, an ancestor of Markle from 15 generations ago.

Ralph’s family seat was Streatlam Castle in the North East of England, and his grandson Christopher Hussey moved to America in 1632 — he even helped to found Nantucket, Massachusetts! Fast forward hundreds of years, and Meghan was born.

Meanwhile, Bowes’s great-grandson Sir George Bowes became a member of parliament during the reign of Charles II. Prince Harry came along much later obviously.

Now that’s an investigation!
