Academy Removes Weinstein, Now They’re Pressured to Remove Cosby & Polanski

Harvey Weinstein was removed from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences after a vote (only the second in history). Now, the group is under pressure to boot off Roman Polanski and Bill Cosby as well as other members who’ve been charged or convinced of serious cirmes.

Polanski was convicted with drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl, while Cosby has been accused by more than 50 women of sexual assault.

“Where does it end?” asked one academy voter to Page Six. “This could be like the removal of Civil War monuments.”

Academy members point to places like AFI’s Louis B. Mayer Library (Mayer was a known predator as well, and abused people like a young Judy Garland), and Darryl F. Zanuck Theatre, who was also known for predatory behavior.
