Alyssa Milano’s Sexual Assault Campaign #MeToo Goes Viral
Leave it to the Halliwell sisters to conjure up change in the world.
Actor and activist Alyssa Milano has joined her former Charmed costar in leading the conversation about sexual assault by starting the campaign #MeToo, which has gone ultra viral in the last 24 hours.
“If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote ‘Me too.’ as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem,” she tweeted. Since then, millions of women have shared it on social media.
Alyssa previously tweeted about Harvey Weinstein: “While I am sickened and angered over the disturbing accusations of Weinstein’s sexual predation and abuse of power, I’m happy — ecstatic even — that it has opened up a dialogue around the continued sexual harassment, objectification and degradation of women.”
