Andy Cohen Replaces Kathy Griffin On CNN’s New Year’s Eve Special
Following Kathy Griffin’s controversial photo carrying a paper mache head of Donald Trump, she was abruptly fired from cohosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve alongside Anderson Cooper.
Now, it’s reported that Andy Cohen will join Anderson in her absence.
“The news is out! I’m co-hosting New Year’s Eve on CNN with @andersoncooper and I could not be more excited!” Andy wrote on Twitter.

Anderson and Andy have been obvious besties for years, so it’s clear what we’re going to see that night. However, we’re all going to miss Kathy’s antics — love you, Andy, but you’re not nearly as shocking as Kathy could have been.
“We’re still friends,” Anderson told Andy of Kathy in July. “And look, I said what I said about — I didn’t think what she said was appropriate, but I wish her the best and I hope she bounces back.”
Kathy later told The Cut, however, that her friendship with Anderson is over.
