Meghan McCain took her first seat as cohost of The View, replacing Jedidiah Bila. Whoopi spoke to the camera, talking to her dad John McCain and assured him she’s in “good hands.”

Meghan got emotional really quick speaking about John’s cancer: “I can’t believe I’m freaking crying already,” she said. “When you hear cancer, a nuclear bomb goes off in your life. No matter who you are. I didn’t realize how intense and disruptive and scary and hopeless and chaotic you would feel all day long.”

Meghan went on to say that she will be fighting for cancer education and awareness till the day she dies. Watch the clip below:
