It’s about damn time!

George Clooney will be getting the 46th AFI Life Achievement Award, the American Film Institute announced yesterday. The gala will happen in June 2018, and no doubt all the stars will be showing up for this one.

Usually, the award is given to slightly older actors to celebrate their entire life (George is only 56). But who cares! He has a huge life ahead of him with his baby twins, and he deserves it more than any other actor I can think of.

AFI’s your of trustees chairman Howard Stringer called George “a modern-day screen icon who combines the glamour of a time gone by with a ferocious passion for ensuring art’s impact echoes beyond the screen.”
