Chrissy Metz had a good 37th birthday after her boyfriend, cameraman John Stancil, threw a surprise party at Beauty & Essex Los Angeles this weekend.

A spy told Page Six, “Her boyfriend surprised her. All of her friends and family were there, and then she walked into the surprise.”

Thankfully, even though there were loads of fans there, no one came to disrupt the party.

Ironically enough, Ashlee Simpson also had a birthday party at Beauty & Essex later that night, with her sister Jessica Simpson and sister-in-law Tracee Ellis Ross in attendance. Her party was Gucci-themed — no telling if it was a surprise or not.
