Will & Grace Creator Says Trump Is the Son of Someone ‘Arrested at a KKK Rally’

During a Tribeca TV panel this weekend, Jess Cagle (People and Entertainment Weekly editorial director) asked Will & Grace creators how they’d react if Donald Trump called them a “son of a bitch,” which is what he called NFL players who protested during the national anthem.

“I guess I would rather be a son of a bitch than the son of someone who was arrested at a KKK rally,” David Kohan responded.

“What he said,” co-creator Max Mutchnick added. “I’m not going to beat that.”

According to EW, Trump’s father, Fred, was arrested in 1927 after an altercation between the KKK and New York City police officers during a Memorial Day parade. While he wasn’t charged with a crime, one local paper noted that he was “dismissed on a charge of refusing to disperse.”

Trump has always denied the fact that his father was arrested.
