In honor of the late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, Jared Leto gave a passionate speech at the VMAs, urging those contemplating suicide to get help.

Jared called Chester a close friend who showed him that it was possible to pursue your dreams while still being kind and caring to others. “I see his face, which was always smiling. I think about his heart, which he wore on his sleeve,” he said.

The speech ended with a video featuring part of Bennington and Linkin Park’s 2010 VMAs performance outside the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles.
