36 years ago, the world saw the wedding of the century with Princess Diana and Prince Charles. Thankfully, the Associated Press restored the original footage and released it in 4K resolution on YouTube.

AP acquired the footage from British Movietone, the only company to film the weeding on high-quality 35 mm film at the time, in 2016. “The restored 4K film is simply stunning and a world away from the 1980s videotape versions that we’re familiar with,” said Alwyn Lindsey, AP’s vice president of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
