Elizabeth Moss Speaks About Her Scientology Religion
Not many people know that Elizabeth Moss is a scientologist – she never talks about it!
But now the actress is coming out in defense of her faith when a fan questioned the parallels of the “cult” like religion and her totalitarian government in her show The Handmaid’s Tale.
“That’s actually not true at all about Scientology,” Elizabeth said. “Religious freedom and tolerance and understanding the truth and equal rights for every race, religion and creed are extremely important to me. The most important things to me probably. And so Gilead and ‘THT’ hit me on a very personal level.”
Elizabeth was raised in the church, and in an interview with Vulture, she said: “I’m not going to talk about it anymore. I said what it meant to me, and anyone can go and look at that if they want to know what I feel. But now it’s private, off limits.”
