Linkin Park Frontman Chester Bennington Commits Suicide

Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, 41, has hanged himself at a private residence in Palos Verdes, reports TMZ. His body was discovered this morning.

Chester had suffered with drugs and alcohol abuse for several years, and had spoken of his suicidal thoughts before due to PTST from abuse he experienced as a child from an older male.

Ironically, Chester was good friends with singer Chris Cornell, who hanged himself last May. Today would have been Chris’s 53rd birthday, as TMZ points out.

In fact when Chris died, Chester wrote an open letter.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Chester’s family, which included six children.
