Mariah Carey has one hell of a rise to fame story, and Starz is jumping on it by giving it a drama series treatment with hopes of developing it into a full on show.

The untitled scripted drama is based on the singer’s real life experiences, and Mariah will be executive producing it alongside Brett Ratner.

Set in 1986 (written and showrun by Nina Colman), it will chronicle the rise of a bi-racial 16-year old aspiring singer who winds up becoming the biggest selling female music artist of all time, reports Page Six.

No doubt, Mariah had a sharp and interesting rise to fame, with five consecutive Hot 100 No. 1 hits in 1990 and 1991, including “Vision Of Love,” “Love Takes Time,” “Someday,” “I Don’t Wanna Cry” and “Emotions.”
