Picture it: The time is 1590 and the soundtrack is set to 1980s music by the Go-Gos… would you see that musical??

Well apparently it’s Gwyneth Paltrow’s dream and it’s one step closer to Broadway, according to Page Six. The musical is called Head Over Heels, and the actress held a party for the show in the Hamptons this week with producers and Tony-winning director Michael Mayor in attendance — as well as the Go-Go’s guitarist Charlotte Caffey.

Musical arranger Tom Kitt led a round of classic Go-Gos tunes along with Charlotte, and sources say the musical is eyeing a Broadway run for the 2018-2019 season. Potential backers are getting sent one-sheets that read: “This project is a dream come true for me. I hope you will join us on this very exciting journey. — Gwyneth.”

“As Producers, responsible for promoting content relevant to the universal Human Experience, we feel an obligation to stand on the right side of History, to promote progress toward inclusion, and to defend the basic rights of all human beings,” a part of the mission statement reads. “We seek to empower you to follow your heart, and to realize that the beat of your own heart is echoed by a universal beat that makes us all one.”

The musical is supposedly about inclusion and gender equality, set in 1590 to Go-Gos music. I don’t know about you, but it sounds interesting!
