Pretty much half the world watched the Game of Thrones premiere last night, and those who did saw the surprise appearance of Ed Sheeran, performing a folksy campfire song before he baked bread with Arya Stark (Maisie Williams).

His scene was actually pretty cool. And as far as his song, the lyrics were pulled from George R. R. Martin’s original source material for the show:

“He rode through the streets of the city / Down from his hill on high / O’er the winds and the steps and the cobbles / He rode to a woman’s sigh / For she was his secret treasure / She was his shame and his bliss / And a chain and a keep are nothing / Compared to a woman’s kiss / For hands of gold are always cold / But a woman’s hands are warm.”

Of course, Arya told him after he sung, “That’s a pretty song,” to which he replied, “It’s a new one.”
