Ryan Reynolds has taken the superhero thing to a whole new level.

The Deadpool actor revealed on Instagram on Monday that he’s got some actual life-saving skills, and put them to some very good use.

The star posted a photo of himself and a first responder holding CPR dummies, and captioned the pic with some impressive information. He wrote, “Years ago, I took a CPR course thru the Red Cross. And holy s–t, I ended up saving my nephew’s life because I knew what to do! True story!” Check out the photo below:

Though he didn’t reveal further details on his heroic act, he shared that he had taken a refresher course, and urged others to take the course as well, writing, “It takes only a few hours and it’s also kinda, sorta fun.”

He concluded the post in a very Ryan-esque way, writing, “Thank you to Dan from Viva First Aid for the lesson. And thank you to these two helpful yet lifeless dolls whose vacant ocular cavities will haunt me until end times.”

It’s funny because it’s true!

The star shares daughters James, 2, and Ines, 8 months, with wife Blake Lively. The former Gossip Girl also encouraged others on Instagram to take the course. She posted a photo of herself with the dummies, writing, “ALL MAMAS AND DADDIES OUT THERE– I can’t recommend this enough, I took a CPR class with with a focus on babies and toddlers. Google “infant CPR class near me” and you’ll see lots of listings. For those of you who haven’t done it, you will love it. It’s so helpful by giving you knowledge, tools, and some peace of mind.”

Ryan is now back to work being a fictional superhero in Deadpool 2, which recently began filming.
