According to a memoir written by Judy Garland’s third husband, Sid Luft, called Judy and I, Marilyn Monroe apparently reached out to the legendary singer for help before she died.

People magazine was able to get an excerpt of the book, which shows that Judy was haunted by Marlyn’s death because of the last words they spoke to each other, which was at a Hollywood party.

Apparently, Marilyn had followed Judy from room to room, telling her, “I don’t want to get too far away from you. I’m scared!”

Judy then responded, “We’re all scared. I’m scared, too!”

“If we could just talk. I know you’d understand.” Then, Judy responded, “Maybe I could. If you’re scared, call me and come on over. We’ll talk about it.”

Unfortunately, they never sat to talk. Marilyn was found dead on August 5, 1962 in her home after an overdose of sleeping pills.
