Woah! Dr. Dre is donating $10M to Help Build an Arts Complex in Compton

Talk about a giver to the arts! Dr. Dre announced this week he’d be making a $10 million donation towards a performing arts complex at Compton High School in Compton, California.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the facility is going to be a hell of a complex! It will include state of the art technology with amenities like a digital media studio and a theater with 1,200 seats.

His goal? “To provide kids with the kind of tools and learning they deserve. A place for young people to be creative in a way that will help further their education and positively define their future.”

The music legend, and former N.W.A. member, is going to be active in fundraising additional money for the complex. Construction is expected to begin in 2020.

According to Forbes, Dr. Dre’s net worth is around $740 million thanks to his ridiculously successful headphones brand, Beats by Dr. Dre, which he sold to Apple.

It’s going to be HOT!
