It’s official! Cher will have her own musical, and it will be epic!

Back in January, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Cher gave Cher: The Musical two thumbs up after a top-secret read-through featuring Jillian Mueller, Lesli Margherita, and Lena Hall playing her at different times of her life. She said, “I sobbed & laughed, & I was prepared not 2like it. Audience clapped after songs, & gave it standing ovation.”

Now, the musical is officially a go. The singer took to Twitter to share the exciting news, writing,

“Just got off phone w/writer & director of musical,” she wrote. “There will be performance in theatre with actors, dancers, singers!! It’ll be on Broadway 2018.”

The show will deliver hit songs from Cher’s iconic career, and chronicle her life growing up in Los Angeles, singing background vocals in her teens years, her marriage and partnership with Sonny Bono, and her acting career as well. It will be produced by Jeffrey Seller of Hamilton and Flody Suarez of Rise, and Pitch Perfect’s Jason Moore will direct.

There are no further details, but 2018 is already looking a whole lot brighter!
