Tess Holliday Is Not Okay With The New ‘Snow White’ Movie Poster!

Posters for the new Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs film have come out, and they are ruffling some feathers!

Red Shoes & the 7 Dwarfs is a parody of the original animated classic. The posters are making headlines for all the wrong reasons, though, as many feel it’s promoting body shaming. A tall, slender version of the heroine stands beside a short, thicker version of herself with the tagline, “What if Snow White was no longer beautiful and the 7 Dwarfs not so short?”

Plus-sized model and body image activist Tess Holliday has publicly called out the marketing team on Twitter. She wrote, “How did this get approved by an entire marketing team? Why is it okay to tell young kids being fat = ugly?” Take a look at the poster and her tweet below:

Tess feels that the message that the heavier snow white being “no longer beautiful” is a bad one, and many others share her sentiment.

One Twitter user wrote, “I’m so confused by this… how was this actually made? It’s a joke? Right?”

Another tweeted, “This is the epitome of what I don’t want my kids to see……terrible.”

The film is expected to be released sometime in 2018.
