The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed to USA TODAY Sports that LeBron James’ West Los Angeles home was vandalized with a racial slur on Wednesday morning at 6:44 a.m.

TMZ initially reported that someone had painted the n-word on the gate of his Brentwood neighborhood estate. LeBron was not home at the time, and the offensive graffiti has since been covered up.

According to public records, LeBron purchased the 9,440 square foot house in 2015 for $20.9 million. His primary residence during the NBA season is in Akron, Ohio, but he is currently prepping for the NBA Finals with the Cleveland Cavaliers against the Golden State Warriors, and games 1 and 2 are in Oakland, California.
