Wow, Oprah Winfrey Staged a Serious Intervention For Jamie Foxx

Oprah Winfrey truly is an angel, and is always sprinkling a little goodness for people who need it. One of those people was Jamie Foxx.

Back in 2004 when Jamie Foxx was getting rave reviews for his performance in Ray, which resulted in an Oscar nomination, he was apparently having too much fun. So much fun that he almost blew it, which is when Oprah came in.

“I’m having such a good time and I’m not knowing I’m f–king up,” he said to Howard Stern this week. “I’m drinking … I’m doing every f–king thing you could possibly imagine.”

Then, Oprah called him: “‘You’re blowing it, Jamie Foxx,’” he said Oprah told him. “‘All of this gallivanting and all this kind of s–t, that’s not what you want to do … I want to take you somewhere. Make you understand the significance of what you’re doing.’”

She later organized a meeting for him with a slew of legendary black actors at Quincy Jones’ house!

“We go in the house and there are all these old actors,” he said. “Black actors from the ’60s and the ’70s. Who look like they just want to say, ‘Good luck.’ They want to say, ‘Don’t blow it.’”

Sidney Poitier told him, “‘I want to give you responsibility … When I saw your performance, it made me grow two inches.’”
