Spidey’s got a brand new gig!

Tom Holland is set to star in Sony’s adaptation of the video game Uncharted. The movie, based on the PlayStation game series centering around treasure hunter Nathan Drake, follows Nathan’s first interaction with his mentor, Sullivan. Tom will play a younger version of the game’s character in the flick that will act as a prequel to the game.

Shawn Levy is signed on to direct. The project has been in the works for quite some time, and several directors had climbed onboard and then dropped out during the extended development process. The film was originally announced way back in 2009.

Tom’s stock sure has risen recently. The British actor first played Peter Parker a year ago in Captain America: Civil War. He reprised his role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, opening on July 7 and Infinity War, due on May 4 2018. He is also signed on to star in The Weinstein Co.’s The Current War and Doug Liman’s Chaos Walking.
