Ousted Leader of Fox News, Roger Ailes, Dead at 77

Conservative leader of Fox News, Roger Ailes, passed away this morning.

Roger is known for building up the network into the conservative channel it’s known to be today, becoming somewhat of a marker for the Republican Party — turning right wing politicians into superstars.

The news came this morning from his wife, Elizabeth Ailes. “I am profoundly sad and heartbroken to report that my husband, Roger Ailes, passed away this morning,” she wrote in the statement, published by the Drudge Report. “Roger was a loving husband to me, to his son Zachary, and a loyal friend to many.”

Roger founded Fox News in the mid-1990s, calling it a “fair and balanced” alternative to other networks. Within the last year, he was met with multiple allegations of sexual assault, which ultimately led to him being pushed out last summer.
