The death of legendary grunge singer Chris Cornell was ruled as suicide by hanging, the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled. A full autopsy hasn’t been complete yet.

As we previously reported, Chris’ wife, Vicky Karayiannis, had called a friend and asked them to check on Chris. Upon checking, they had to push the hotel room open where they ultimately found him dead in the bathroom.

Footage from his last performance taken from an audience member showed the last song of the night was about dying. Watch the video HERE.

Rest in peace, Chris. You’re going to be missed terribly.

“The Medical Examiner has completed the autopsy on 52-year-old Chris Cornell, the Soundgarden musician who died last night in Detroit,” the medical examiner’s office stated. “The cause of death has been determined as suicide by hanging. A full autopsy report has not yet been completed. There is no additional information at this time.”
