Oh no he didn’t!

Looks like Taylor Hicks may have a bit of a personal agenda.

Us Weekly reported that the season 5 winner of American Idol has taken a dig at his previous competitor, Chris Daughtry. The rocker has just signed on as a judge for the show’s upcoming reboot on ABC, and Taylor has some thoughts on the matter. During an interview on the Domenick Nati Show on Tuesday, he said:

“I think a winner should be [a judge], personally. Because, what you go through to win the show is a lot different than what you go through when you’re third or fourth, you know, or fifth. Or tenth. If they were going to have a judge that’s from the show, if they’re going to have someone from the show who was actually a contestant, I would feel like a winner would be the best suited.”

Oh snap!

The two competed in 2006, and Taylor placed first while Chris placed fourth. Let’s not forget, though, what happens after the win. Chris’s record sales rank third for all former contestants, just behind Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

Taylor says that he would definitely be interested in the judging gig, saying, “I’ve got some pretty good ideas, we’ll see what happens.” When asked if he’s actually been approached for the job, the 40-year-old replied, “I’m just gonna be tight-lipped about everything. I’m not confirming or denying it.”
