Jennifer Hudson has a brand new gig!

The Oscar winner will join Miley Cyrus, who is returning for a second season, and regulars Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, to coach contestants on the 13th season of The Voice.

After leading her team to victory on the U.K. version of the show earlier this year, the singer will revisit NBC, where she co-starred on Hairspray Live! and guest-starred in Smash.

Jennifer is more than qualified for the position. The singer rose to stardom as a contestant on American Idol in 2004, and solidified her superstar status when she won an Academy Award for her role in the film, Dreamgirls. NBC Entertainment alternative and reality group president Paul Telegdy said:

“Jennifer is an extraordinary vocal talent and one of the premier voices of our time. She embodies the experience, expertise, positivity and sheer talent that The Voice stands for. Her exceptional skills as a singer and actress have extended to film, television and Broadway, which makes her an incredible addition and a natural fit for our show.”

Interestingly, The Voice will go up against it’s longtime opponent and Jennifer’s alma mater, American Idol, once again, as it will be revived sometime in the 2017-2018 season.
