In a revealing interview with Billboard, Miley Cyrus opens up about giving up marijuana and how it’s forced to her to evolve as a human.

“I haven’t smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I’ve ever [gone without it],” she said. “I’m not doing drugs, I’m not drinking, I’m completely clean right now! That was just something that I wanted to do.”

She explained the title of her new single “Malibu,” which is a love song for fiancee Liam Hemsworth. “I never would’ve believed you if three years ago you told me I’d be here writing this song,” she said.

The coupled ended their relationship in 2013, but rekindled it in 2016. She later shared that the song was actually written inside an Uber on the way to The Voice set.

“They’re going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, ‘This is how I feel’?” she said about the song.

Today, they share a property in Malibu, where they have seven dogs, two pigs and two miniature horses. Liam had bought the property in 2014 before she moved in. She later built Rainbow Land, a boho recording studio where she has been fine-tuning her forthcoming sixth studio album.

The new song is scheduled to be released May 11.
