George And Amal Clooney Donated Big To Dogs In Need

The reasons we love George and Amal Clooney just keep on coming!

The couple stepped in to help save 9 dogs from a backyard breeder in California. The dogs were rescued from the distressing conditions by a group called, Camp Cocker Rescue, but taking in so many new dogs at one time is financially overwhelming to rescue groups that operate on donations. Camp Cocker’s founder, Cathy Stanley, told People:

“We literally didn’t know how we were even going to begin to start paying for all of these new dogs that we took in on the same day. Each of these dogs has never been to a vet in their entire lives so it’s quite a bit to get them caught up. They all needed blood work done, deep ear cleanings, some had wounds where their nails had grown around into the pads of their feet, they all needed baths/grooming, many had matted hair that needed to be shaved down.”

That’s where George and Amal came in. The pair gave the rescue a whopping $10,000 donation to help with the care these neglected dogs desperately needed. The gift was being used to match other donations the group already had coming in.

The group thanked George and Amal profusely on their Facebook page. They wrote:

“After we all did happy dances and cried with happiness for this unbelievable matching donation offer  — we then asked the donors if (and only if they gave us their permission) … if we could reveal their names to our supporters in order to help us reach our big goal this month. They were so very gracious to give us permission to reveal their names. We want to thank George and Amal Clooney for their unbelievable donation and now it’s time to turn to all of YOU to see if you can match it!!!!”

George and Amal are no strangers to Camp Cocker. George adopted his pup, Einstein, from them in 2010, and then hit them up again when he took home another dog, Louie.
