Johnny Depp is in the middle of a very public and heated battle with his former business managers, and the allegations keep getting weirder!

The lawsuit began in January when the actor filed a $25 million lawsuit against Joel and Robert Mandel of The Management Group for fraud, and they claimed that Johnny’s financial issues were self-imposed.

The latest allegation by TMG is a doozy! The former managers say that the actor’s entitlement is so “clear and epic” that he refuses to learn his lines on his own. According to the Hollywood Reporter, attorney Michael Kump wrote in an amendment to the complaint, “Depp insisted that this sound engineer be kept on yearly retainer so that he no longer had to memorize his lines.”  According to The New York Post, this additional service reportedly costs “hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

The claim that Johnny wears an earbud is not totally new. Back in 2008, Kirsten Dunst told Vulture, “Johnny Depp has music playing in his ear when he acts. He has an earbud. That’s why he’s so great.” Hmm…

The papers filed in court on Monday also say the company is requesting that Johnny be examined for “compulsive spending disorder.” Some of the things that Johnny has purchased, according to the lawsuit and curtesy of Daily Mail are:

  • Some 14 residences in the South of France ($75 million total)
  • A 150-foot yacht that needed remodeling ($18 million total)
  • A cannon for launching Hunter S Thompson’s ashes ($5 million)
  • Investment to set up Unison, a friend’s record label ($4 million) Forbes also reported that he bought a Caribbean island chain in 2004 ($3.6 million)
  • Full-time staff of 40 people ($300,000 per month)
  • Personal security, 24/7 ($150,000 per month)
  • Wines ($30,000 per month)
  • Gulfstream jet rental ($20,000 per month)

Last month, the star told The Wall Street Journal, “If I want to buy 15,000 cotton balls a day, it’s my thing.”
