Shannen Doherty is breathing a little easier today.

This weekend, the Beverly Hills 90210 alum took to Instagram to share some amazing news. Two years after her diagnosis, the star was just told that her breast cancer is now in remission. Shannen posted a photo showing her overwhelming emotion, writing, “Moments. They happen. Today was and is a moment.” See her moving post below:

Moments. They happen. Today was and is a moment. What does remission mean? I heard that word and have no idea how to react. Good news? YES. Overwhelming. YES. Now more waiting. As every single one of my fellow cancer family knows, the next five years is crucial. Reoccurrences happen all the time. Many of you have shared that very story with me. So with a heart that is certainly lighter, I wait. In the meantime, decisions. Reconstruction which is several surgeries. Decision on taking a pill for the next five years that comes with its own set of problems and side effects. I am blessed, I know that. But for now…. remission. I’m going to just breathe. #cancerslayer

The 45-year-old, who has been sharing her journey with fans, is optimistic but cautious about what the amazing news will bring down the road. She wrote, “So with a heart that is certainly lighter, we wait.”

Shannen is now faced with some decisions to make regarding reconstructive surgeries and controversial preventative care, but the “cancer slayer” is overwhelmed with gratitude to be currently cancer-free.
