Ouch! Gwen Stefani has an ear injury, and it’s turned into a bit of an ordeal.

According to Daily Mail, the singer ruptured an eardrum while on a flight on April 25. After being admitted to Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, doctors advised her not to fly or sing (gasp!) until it heals.

Sadly, this became a deal breaker for a gig that Gwen had lined up. The star was scheduled to sing at the annual Power of Love gala at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Thursday, and had to cancel. The event benefitted the Keep Memory Alive charity, which is dedicated to finding cures for movement and memory disorders. Daily Mail reported that an announcer told the gala guests about what happened before the dinner, and played a video of Gwen apologizing for her absence.

Get well soon, Gwen!
