United Airlines Gets Pulled From Tribeca Film Festival – KARMA?

Poor United Airlines… they seem to have lost their wings (or at the very least, chipped them).

Following the disaster they faced after a video surfaced of them forcefully removing passenger Dr. David Dao earlier this month, Tribeca Film Festival pulled the company’s ad from their annual event, which brings in some of America’s most well-connected advertisers and investors.

The ad was for Polaris Business Class, and it supposedly touted giving people “permission to indulge” with “seasonal cuisine” (black eye not included).

The ad itself got a big reaction after being screened before Cliff Davis’ documentary, and according to a source at Page Six, “You don’t realize it’s United until the end. So you’re expecting Polaris to be some super luxe airline and then their name came up and everyone lost it. The whole of Radio City was laughing for a good minute.”

Afterwards, The Hollywood Reporter reports, the spot was pulled.

“United is a valued partner of the Tribeca Film Festival, and we are grateful for their continued support of our filmmakers and the arts,” rep Tammie Rosen said.
