Madonna Did NOT Give Her Blessing For An Unauthorized Biopic

As we reported earlier, Universal is going to produce a new biopic about the Queen of Pop: Madonna!

While you’d think the star would be all over this movie, which is appropriately called Blonde Ambition, it’s come to light that she is not part of the production team, and in fact refuses to give her blessing altogether.

“Nobody knows what I know and what I have seen. Only I can tell my story,” she wrote on Instagram. “Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and a fool. Looking for instant gratification without doing the work. This is a disease in our society.”

Michael De Luca, who produced Fifty Shades of Grey for Universal, is attached to produce along with Brett Ratner’s RatPac Entertainment, The Hollywood Reporter reported. John Zaozirny of Bellevue Productions also will produce. The story is set in early 1980s New York as Madonna Louise Ciccone works on her first album, struggling in a business that treats women badly, while also dealing with a burgeoning love life and the first hints of fame.

This isn’t the first time a pop star refused to give their blessing for an unauthorized biopic.
