Serena Williams Responds to Racist Remarks About Her Unborn Baby

Serena Williams is a Queen who deserves a national monument. Not only did she win the Australian open 8 weeks pregnant, but she is a trailblazer who is breaking the mold not only for women, but for women of color (which is a whole other discussion).

That being said, DON’T F*CK WITH HER!

After announcing her pregnancy, Serena received an overwhelming amount of love and support from social media, which is why it came as a surprise that someone from her own industry started throwing racist remarks.

This weekend, Ilie Nastase, a Romanian tennis legend who peaked in the 1970s, said of her pregnancy, “Let’s see what color it has. Chocolate with milk?”

Ilie was referring to the fact that Serena is black and her fiancé, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, is white.

Of course the International Tennis Federation immediately spoke down the comments, saying: “The ITF does not tolerate discriminatory and offensive language and behaviour of any kind. We are aware of alleged comments made by Romanian captain Ilie Nastase and have begun an immediate investigation so that we have the full facts of the situation before taking further and appropriate action.”

Serena’s response, though, was everything. Read below: (take notice of the Maya Angelou quote)
